SESSION DETAILS / WHAT ATTENDEES WILL LEARN

Employers consistently list communication skills among the most important skills for risk professionals. These professionals often work on improving the most common communication skills, such as presentation skills and writing skills. However, there are a few communication skills that are equally valuable yet are often overlooked. In this session, we address these often under-appreciated skills that can positively impact the success and career trajectory of risk professionals: listening skills, reading body language, and flexing to different communication personalities.
Attendees will learn how to:
1) Apply listening skills that will improve communication exchanges while building a network of relationships;
2) Read body language to correctly interpret reactions and attitudes;
3) Flex to different communication personalities to avoid unnecessary conflicts and improve workflow
