Purpose
Founded on September 1, 1932, the Actuarial Society of Greater New York (ASNY)
is a non-profit actuarial organization committed to four major objectives:

Further the development of actuarial science and knowledge.
ASNY periodically provides grants to fund these efforts.

Assist in the ongoing education of ASNY members.
Throughout the year, ASNY's Continuing Education and Annual Meeting committees
organize educational meetings.

Hold meetings regarding matters of social interest to members. These events
permit an interchange of ideas and good fellowship.
The Public Relations committee organizes such events as the annual winter
holiday party.

Assist in the education of actuarial students in the Greater New York area.
The Student Education committee organizes classes and seminars to help students
prepare for SOA exams.

Membership
Members of the SOA or the AAA who work or reside in the Greater New York area
are eligible for membership.
Those not qualifying for formal membership are eligible to join ASNY as
sbscribers. Subscribers receive most of the same benefits as members, including
discounts to ASNY events. See Member Benefits for more information.
