Purpose
Founded on September 1, 1932, the Actuarial Society of Greater New York (ASNY) is a non-profit actuarial organization committed to four major objectives:

  1. Further the development of actuarial science and knowledge.
ASNY periodically provides grants to fund these efforts.

  2. Assist in the ongoing education of ASNY members.
Throughout the year, ASNY's Continuing Education and Annual Meeting committees organize educational meetings.

  3. Hold meetings regarding matters of social interest to members. These events permit an interchange of ideas and good fellowship.
The Public Relations committee organizes such events as the annual winter holiday party.

  4. Assist in the education of actuarial students in the Greater New York area.
The Student Education committee organizes classes and seminars to help students prepare for SOA exams.
